Golden Hour Wedding at Mulhauser Barn

Kerstin called me a little more than a week before her wedding. I was incredibly thrown off, because I keep my phone on Do Not Disturb 90% of the time - I have to mentally prepare to talk on the phone (if you know me at all this might surprise you because I can literally talk to a wall). But my phone rang, it was a 513 number, so I answered it. I still hadn’t fully switched from day job mode into boss babe mode so I was a little flustered if we’re being honest. But Kerstin wanted a wedding photographer for her wedding a week away and I said “why the heck not”. Let me tell you, it was such a supreme blessing because her wedding was one of the best days I’d had in a long time.

When I arrived at the venue, I chatted with her a little bit. She had booked the venue a long while back and had always known that August 20th was when she would be getting married. Enter COVID into the equation (so many of you know how that goes), and it kind of threw a wrench in things. But that date still felt right, and Kerstin did everything she could to make it come together.

Both Kerstin and Durrell’s family were SO supportive and kind and encouraging. I could tell from every detail the love they had on their side and the support they had for their marriage. It was such a beautiful thing to witness and be a part of.

When I pulled Kerstin and Durrell aside for portraits, Kerstin was a little worried. She said they had no idea how to pose, and that they were awkward (if I had a dollar for every time I heard that…) but guys…. did their love show up and show OUT. I could FEEL how much they love each other by just being within 6 feet of them. They were so in tune with one another I just- it was amazing. I’ll let their photos do the rest of the talking but dang.
