Can We Go Thrift Shopping?
Back in January of 2020 (when we had literally no idea that the world as we knew it was about to end) I met up for drinks with the amazingly talented Savannah Linn Photography at one of our favorite bars: Queen City Exchange. We talked, we laughed, we drank a few beers and ate a few baskets of popcorn. And then Savannah hit me with her idea: a styled shoot with a thrift shop theme. Everything in the shoot would be crafted or thrifted: pure vintage. We wanted to show brides that you can in fact ball on a budget and still have a BEAUTIFUL wedding. What came of this snowy January day absolutely blew my mind. I was pushed to overcome all the stupid limitations I had set for myself:
“There’s no way I’m comfortable shooting at a styled shoot, much less hosting one.”
“How would I even find the time to organize something like a styled shoot.”
“I don’t even know the first step in planning a styled shoot.”
Savannah and I then knocked our heads together, knocked back another glass of beer, and got to work. We spent the next month planning, shopping, working with the essential vendors, and somehow hodge-podged together something that, to this day, we’re both IMMENSELY proud of. Keep on a-scrolling to check out the magic that came out of that day, and be sure to check out the amazing vendors we were blessed to work with.
